COVID-19 has been detected in 42 members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters. Security officials and party staff members at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi have tested positive for COVID-19.

The news comes as senior BJP leaders, including Home Minister Amit Shah, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and others, have been having marathon sessions at the party's headquarters in preparation for the upcoming Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh and other states.

A mass COVID-19 test drive was done at the BJP headquarters on Monday, and it was discovered that 42 personnel are COVID-19 positive. Contact tracing has been started, according to Times Now, and anybody who may have come into contact with the personnel are being tracked.

Senior BJP figures such as Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, and BJP chief JP Nadda have all tested positive for COVID-19 and have been placed under house arrest. "With modest symptoms, I tested positive for Covid 19 today. I've secluded myself and placed myself under home quarantine after following all of the proper precautions. I ask that everybody who has had touch with me isolate themselves and be tested "In a tweet on Tuesday, Gadkari remarked

The BJP's strategy discussions before of elections in five states may be hampered by the sudden increase in COVID cases at its headquarters. The Election Commission of India (ECI) set the dates for Assembly elections in five states last week. Between February 10 and March 7, elections will be place in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Manipur, Goa, and Punjab. On March 10th, the results will be announced.
